Earlier this week the hypnosis community lost a very special person. Janet Macy who was widely known in the community as Enchantress Soforia passed away. There have been many posts on community message boards from people whose lives She touched. An outpouring of love and fond memories for a remarkable woman. From those who knew Soforia on a personal level, She was kind, caring, and genuine.

She was a pioneer in the genre of erotic hypnosis. If not the first, She was one of the first to offer recorded erotic themed hypnosis sessions. Many have credited Her with having introduced them to this genre and helping them to realize the limitless possibilities that hypnosis has to offer. Several female hypnotist have credited Soforia as being their inspiration to follow their own paths. Soforia opened a door that many have stepped through.

In their May 2002 issue, GQ magazine featured Her in an article about erotic hypnosis, for the first time bringing the genre into the mainstream.  She offered an insight on what that experience was like on Her web site and is suggested reading, The GQ Experience . It's quite possible that this community would not exist today if it were not for Soforia paving the way.

Ms. Macy was a highly skilled and professional hypnotist. Her work demonstrated those skills, Her imagination, and Her creativity. From all appearances She enjoyed her work and appreciated those She interacted with in the hypnosis community, and many became friends. She will be truly missed.
