Goddess Lycia graciously agreed to be interviewed for this issue.  She has been very candid in Her answers and what follows allows a peek into what makes Her a unique, fun, and sought after HypnoDomme.

HypnosisAddiction Magazine: Of course I have to begin with this question, how did You become the hypnotic Goddess who captures hearts and brings subjects to their knees?

Goddess Lycia: Hmmm, that’s kind of a tough question. I could say it is partially due to my exceptionally alternative upbringing. People with untraditional childhood experiences tend to be surprisingly cool. The whole hypnotic thing started in childhood, too, as I spent a lot of time listening to My mother’s meditation tapes (which later I found to be very similar to hypnosis). Also, I tend to think highly of Myself, and when one thinks highly of themselves, others think highly of them.

I was first introduced to the term “Erotic Hypnosis” when browsing online chatrooms about 5 years ago. I saw the title under either the BDSM or Fetish category, and was like, “Wow, that sounds neat.” I started out as a subject (to a handful of different Tists), and while in trance, I was also fairly conscious of everything that the hypnotist was saying and how it was affecting Me. I thought, “Hey, I know this, and I can do this, and I could probably do it even better than these guys!”

So, when I signed on to NiteFlirt to make some extra money, I made an “Erotic Hypnosis” listing. Since then, I’ve gradually gotten more practice and improved My hypnotic performance.

HM: Your name Lycia, even before the pleasure of listening to Your voice, it’s a name seems to say Goddess. Is there something more in why You chose Lycia as Your name?

GL: It’s My birth name!

Just kidding. “Lycia” is the name of a band with a very dark and mystical sound, who got their name from a city in ancient Turkey. I like the band, and also just like the way the name sounds.

HM: There must be lot of guys and women out there whose fantasies and erotic needs have been fulfilled by listening to one of Your MP3’s, watching Your videos, or talking to You on the phone. Do You ever ponder that effect You have on Your subjects; is that something that is a part of Your own fantasies?

GL: I like knowing that I have a powerful erotic effect on My subjects. As I have mentioned in previous interviews, I have a fantasy where I am in control of an institution with at least a dozen hypnoslaves who worship Me. I control their minds and bodies, and program each person to respond to My presence in his own individual way. So, yes, I ponder it, and it is part of My own fantasies.

HM: Love and addiction, tease and denial, humiliation, and feminization are all areas featured prominently on Your web sites. You also have material related to several other fetishes. Are there some that are Your particular favorites? What are Your limits to things You would rather not or will not explore?

GL: No, I do not have a particular favorite. I offer all of the things I offer, because I like them all. There really isn’t any particular fantasy I would rather not explore over the phone or through a recorded session, but there are certain fantasies I am unable to explore due to certain rules and laws that are beyond My control.

HM: It’s noted on Your web site that You also encourage women to call You.Erotic hypnosis is a genre where both sexes can find pleasure and enjoyment, Have You noticed more women taking an interest in erotic hypnosis as a means of exploring their fantasies? What would You say who may be considering giving it a try?

GL: Generally, women do not pay for erotic phone stuff/erotic mp3s. And I do not see it happening, at least not in any significant way. Women can be tranced/dominated for free. However, I am certain that hypnosis and domination can be/is just as powerful and enjoyable for women as it is for men. I have noticed many women taking interest in erotic hypnosis as a means of exploring their fantasies. What I would say to a woman who wants to give it a try is just what I would say to any first-timer/beginner to hypnosis. Have an open mind, and focus on the Hypnotist’s voice more than the words. Refrain from trying to analyze the trance.

HM: It’s been said that an appeal of erotic hypnosis is that it’s a means of releasing inhibitions, perhaps allowing some boundaries to be crossed, in a healthy way of course. Do You find need in Your subjects? To what degree have You allowed Your subjects to explore outside their comfort zones?

GL: Erotic hypnosis can definitely be a means of releasing inhibitions, as well as a means of general escape from reality (both concepts go hand-in-hand). Human beings are taught to keep themselves presentable to society, and to maintain a degree of respect in their communities. This (unfortunately) leads to repression of our true selves.

I find that most men who enjoy hypnosis/domination are very important figures in their business lives, and/or have a great deal of responsibilities to keep up with in general. They always have to be “that guy;” stable, dependable, having all of their “sh*t” together. What a relief it is to just give that power to someone else, especially a pretty, intelligent, and creative Woman.

My subjects and I usually go a great deal beyond their common comfort zones. They are generally seeking a rather drastic difference between how they are under hypnosis and how they are expected to behave during waking life. Of course, the subject’s desires and limits are discussed prior to trance, and I respect all limits. At times, I may see if the limits are able to be pushed, if I think the subject might ultimately enjoy it.

HM: On the subject of Your phone sessions; how much does chemistry come into play? How does it enhance the session when You find a real connection with Your subject?

GL: If a subject has discovered My websites, it likely means he was looking for the kind of experiences I offer. If he reads about what I do, and decides to call or purchase some of My material, then the connection is almost always already there. I state clearly on My websites that I am an addictive Hypnodomme/Humiliatrix who enjoys controlling minds, and that My favorite subjects are submissive and obedient boys. If they see that and still seek out My services, things are likely to work out just fine.

There are some subjects I connect with more fully than others. Those, of course, are My favorite types of sessions, because everything I want to do is equally desired by the sub. If there is a particular fantasy that kind of strays from what I normally like to do, what I have found is that the subject still enjoys it greatly (because I am good at it, hehehe), but it does take more effort on My part to make the fantasy real for them.

HM: In many of Your recorded MP3’s You use background and other manipulations of sound that are quite effective.  Thinking specifically about Your recording The Clinic, which from this listener’s point of view is an artistic masterpiece. The way that You weave in the different voices, not to mention a theme that many likely find very hot, what type of planning goes into producing a recording like The Clinic?

GL: I was lucky to get the general idea of The Clinic from one of My devoted subbies. From there, I had to sit down and think, “Okay, how am I going to do this?” The subbie suggested having three different characters, but how would I make that work? Well, I decided to come up with three different voices, like I did in the humiliation recording “No Way Out.” Some past experience in drama/theater has helped Me with doing that sort of thing. I also wrote down (on paper) a basic outline for how the recording would be structured.

Some recordings start with a simple, basic idea, and I just completely wing the whole recording in one shot. Others require more planning: an organized structure which I decide to adhere to. And occasionally I will develop an entire script to read, which requires a lot of thinking, planning, writing, and revision.

HM: The work You do on Your web sites is awesome. Where do You draw Your inspiration to be so creative?

GL: I think creativity is one of My talents that is just engrained in Me. Is creativity genetic? Probably in part. I have always been interested in all types of art, including (but not limited to) writing, theater, photography, modeling, sketching/drawing/painting, graphic design, sculpture, and music. Doing what I do as a Distance Mistress encompasses almost all of these art forms. I get to be creative in many mediums.

I have also always been rather ambitious. I feel the need to achieve, to succeed, and to have a powerful affect on the lives of others. I also have a desire to leave something behind after I die. Probably many things, hehe.

I have also been greatly inspired by others who have similar talents and desires. Hypnodomme Isabella Valentine has been a great source of inspiration for me. She was doing similar stuff full-time before I ever had the guts to. I felt like I needed a full-time vanilla job, and that My work as a Domme needed to be a part-tome-only thing.

There are some musicians I draw inspiration from, like Pink Floyd, Depeche Mode, and Switchblade symphony. They all do awesome sound work. Basically, if I respect the work of another, I am inspired to achieve that same sort of respect for My own work, in Myself as well as others.

And like I mentioned earlier, creativity is a part of Me. I don’t think I could *not* be creative. Life would seem very drab and boring to Me if creativity wasn’t a part of it.

HM: Someone is coming to You for the first time, what would You suggest as a good starting point? Would You give that person any additional advice?

GL: As I stated in a previous question: Have an open mind, and focus on the Hypnotist’s voice more than the words. Refrain from trying to analyze the trance. I would also add that if you feel like things aren’t happening the way you’d like them to within a trance, just pretend. Pretend you are being tranced and that everything I say is happening is actually happening. Fake it until it’s real, because that is exactly what would be likely to happen: it becomes real.

Also, it is often difficult to tell whether or not you have been hypnotized. Come in without any pre-conceived notions. Sometimes people have been deeply entranced, and upon waking do not think they have been. Other times people think they have been, when really they just fell asleep for five minutes (lol). The more you trance, the more you will understand your own levels of hypnosis and how to reach those levels most accurately.
